Obsession Tuesday

This is probably really open-ended as I obsess over many, many things. People, shoes, fashion, funky telephones, books, the moon's orbit around the Earth, pink versus purple, cereal, yogurt and grapes. But this Tuesday I've decided to simplify all my craziness into my top four obsessions of the week.
  1. Reruns of FRIENDS on Sony Entertainment Television. Even if it is a little dated and half of the time I am staring at Jennifer Aniston's hair and the retro clothes they wore in the 90's it's a show you can't grow up without having had watched. If you didn't then you're really lame. Seriously.
  2. Vintage Chuck Taylor's in black. The original All Star. I've searched countless online stores--eBay, Bid or Buy, Gumtree, Online Shopping S.A, Sports Scene (who declare themselves the kings of sneaker wear. I think not since I didn't find the sneakers!) and countless others.
God, I have too much free time and a love for cool shoes. :)

Aqeelah Harron aka Fashion Breed (http://www.fashionbreed.org/)
I just discovered her in the February issue of Glamour, she's joining their Style Tribe. I love this girl to the death of me. Serious girl crush developing here. She's exactly what I aspire to be in the S.A. fashion industry. She's only 21, fresh out of University of Cape Town (my dream school) and already an up and coming vintage clothing seller, stylist, blogger and fashionista in S.A. And a wardrobe to kill!

P.S A pic of my two besties, Amber Welkom and Lesego Lesetedi at Amber's place in Sunnyside having pre-party prep without me. :( It's okay, I didn't wanna go to that gala anyway.

P.P.S OK, I lied. Only three obsessions this week but Aqeelah is so awesome that she makes it four. So... uh... lie terminated? Yeah, lie terminated!

Need To Know

For my mom, the 16th of April 1998 was a really stressful morning. What with her being in labour over six hours prior to 3:35 a.m. and all. But as the nurse announced, “it’s a girl,” there was a slight glimmer of disappointment in her eyes. For the past three months she and my father had bought boy’s corduroys, cute little truck sweaters and ugly, dude sandals. As you can see, they’d been expecting a boy.
Moral of the story: things don’t always turn out they way you want.
But that is life, it’s like a lime green, double-breasted suit–really hard to get your head around (seriously, why would you even consider that?). And that’s me. I could never be summed up into 140 characters or less. I hardly ever turn out the way you want (unless that’s totally awesome!).
Hey, I’m Khensani. I tend to respire, sleep, eat and inspire. I spend an unhealthy amount of time watching Ben 10 and Courage the Cowardly Dog, threaten people way too often with spoons and dance terrifically (bad) in front my bedroom mirror. I also am super social, smarter than I give myself credit for and have way too much free time on most Sundays. I can be a very sour taste yet you’ll still love me. That’s just how it goes, babe.
